Part 5: Kukushili

Great weather. About 10km from the place where we set BC (bottom left corner of this photo).

The dry end icefalls of Kukushili's central (east) glacier.

The so sunny day got darker and darker and we predicted bad weather for the summit day. Nadine almost at BC at 5600m

The prediction was correct. Very little visibility. 5800m.

Steeper the last part to the long summit ridge. About 6100m.

Nadine on the summit ridge. Cornice on the right and a free fall of 300-400m on the left. Hard wind.

Nadine and Martin leaving the tricky part of the summit ridge. One section is very narrow, with long falls on both sides.

Two happy summiteers on 6388m. Views? At some points we had visibility down to half a meter.

The long way back, in the same conditions. Just after the most narrow place on the ridge. You may see the drop on the right.

The weather improving slightly when on the way down.

The snowfall continued the next day, all the way to where we had left the bikes.

At least they were there.

Same the following day.

Finally, from one hour to the next - great weather and we could see Kukushili again. This time from the south.
